Apes Hill Barbados stands out with significant upgrades. Following a comprehensive redesign by the late Ron Kirby in 2022, the club introduced “Little Apes,” a nine-hole par-three course, in December 2024. This addition offers holes ranging from 70 to 154 yards, inspired by iconic golf designs, providing both novices and seasoned golfers with a fresh challenge.
Looking ahead, Apes Hill plans to unveil a beach resort and club in 2025, enhancing its appeal as a holistic golf and leisure destination.
The island’s tournament calendar is vibrant. From April 25th to 27th, 2025, Apes Hill will host the “Barbados Legends” tournament, presented by Ian Woosnam. This event will feature golf luminaries such as Paul McGinley, Michael Campbell, and defending champion Peter Baker, promising thrilling competition against the backdrop of Barbados’s stunning landscapes.
In March, the Barbados Golf Club will celebrate International Women’s Day with its 2nd Annual Ladies-only 4-Ball Scramble on March 8th, 2025. Proceeds from this event will support women’s golf initiatives in Barbados and the Barbados International Business Association’s charitable projects.
Additionally, the Optimist Caribbean Junior Golf Championships are scheduled from April 7th to 10th, 2025, at the Barbados Golf Club. This tournament offers young golfers a platform to showcase their talents and qualify for the Optimist International Junior Golf Championships in Florida.
Barbados’s commitment to golf extends beyond its shores. As the official destination partner of the PGA Tour through 2027, the island showcased its rich culture and golf offerings at the 2025 Panama PGA Championship. This partnership underscores Barbados’s dedication to promoting itself as a world-class golf and luxury destination.
